LCC 2021 Local Gift Guide
At Lianne Charlene Creative, supporting local is something that is near and dear to our hearts. We love working with small businesses to bring their visions to life and right now shopping local is more important than ever. We have curated this local gift guide of products we are secretly hoping Santa will leave us under the tree!
1. Colombian Coffee
The holidays can get busy and sometimes we just need that coffee buzz to keep us going. Throughout the years we’ve collaborated on lots of fun branding projects with The Colombian including window decals for their newest location in Bonnie Doon. They’re our go-to suggestion for coffee and with a variety of roasts all sustainably sourced, it’s a gift you can feel good about giving. Keep an eye out as they release their new holiday blend!
2. Salted.
These salted caramels are something we’ve personally have had on our wish list the last few months. Salted is a female-owned business founded locally in Flagstaff County, and they make all of their caramel creations by hand. We recently launched their 12 Days of Caramels gift box but we hear it’s already sold out! Not to worry, they’re releasing a new product that will have an assortment of their holiday flavours and would make an excellent stocking stuffer.
3. The Makers Keep
The Makers Keep is a place you need to visit during your holiday shopping. Working with small creators, their mission is to make shopping local easier, and we guarantee they will have something for everyone on your list. We suggest browsing their new Keepsakes Collection of apparel, mugs, and tote bags we got to collaborate and design.
4. Violet Chocolate Company
The Violet Chocolate Company’s advent calendars are popular year after year – and we can see why. Who doesn’t like counting down the holidays with chocolate? For the last six years we’ve had the pleasure of designing the advent calendar and this year we were inspired by the simplest moments of the season, such as evening skating under the glow of Edmonton’s vibrant downtown. If their advent calendars are sold out, their holiday bars are just as delicious!
5. Black Diamond Distillery
If you need some liquid cheer to bring to your holiday parties, Black Diamond Distillery has you covered. They’re a local, small batch distillery in St. Albert offering a variety of unique flavoured vodkas, liquors, whiskey and gin. At the moment we are currently eyeing up their seasonal flavour - spiced cranberry. We guarantee you will be able to find something unique for the cocktail lover in your life at Black Diamond Distillery.
6. Atelier Hair Design
We all like to look our best during the holidays and that means having great hair. Atelier prides themselves on creating a personalized, artistic experience. It’s safe to say we’d love to receive an Atelier gift card under the tree.
7. Enjoy Dough Doughnuts
Dough doughnuts is an LCC office favourite. Enjoy Dough is known for their fluffy, brioche doughnuts and unique flavours. We promise they will be a great addition to your Christmas brunches or coffee dates. However, we strongly suggest pre-ordering so you don’t miss out!
8. Prairie Soap Shack
Self-care is important, especially during the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Prairie soap shack specializes in creating all-natural skincare and body care from scratch. We had the pleasure of working on their new skincare packaging and have given their artisan soaps a try. They’re all guaranteed to help you relax and unwind during the busiest season of the year.
9. Twin Oak Farms Bacon
Twin Oaks Farms started experimenting with artisan bacon during the pandemic and it’s become a huge success. Their specialty is their flavoured creations you won’t find anywhere else, such as: Maple bourbon, apple pie, honey garlic, and jalapeno. We recently redesigned their website, so we know those flavours inside and out. Twin Oak Farms locally sources all their pork, spices, and ingredients creating a product that proudly Alberta crafted. Get that bacon lover of yours a locally produced stocking stuffer this holiday season.
10. Wildrose Cinnamon Buns
One of our newest clients offers a treat you won’t want to miss! There is just something about cinnamon buns that give us that cozy, home for the holidays feeling. Baked from scratch – you can opt for the classic cinnamon bun or try one of Shelby’s unique flavours such as eggnog or sticky toffee. You can find Wildrose Cinnamon Buns at various markets throughout the winter, so we suggest following her on social media so you always know where to find these delicious treats!
11. The Branded Good
The Branded Good is one of our side projects; offering quality designed apparel for a charitable cause. Our current campaign – The Inclusion Collection was created in collaboration with The Autism Edit and designed by our studio with 100% net profits going towards AdaptAbilites. This collection was recently featured on CTV, 102.3 Now Radio, and Jillian Harris Gifts That Give Back. With 100% net profits going towards charity, The Branded Good is a gift you can feel good about gifting.
12. Bibbity Bobbity Broom
The gift of a cleaning service is so much more than just a clean home, it’s about giving you that extra time to spend with friends and family (or time to kick back and watch a couple of extra Christmas movies). Bibbity Bobbity Broom offers cleaning services in the Edmonton, St Albert, and Sherwood Park area and with over 12 years in the industry, they’re excellent at what they do. Cleaning makes a great gift for family members, friends, or even yourself. Who wouldn’t love a clean home for the holidays?
13. Salon Social
Salon Social is a boutique salon located in the French Quarter of Bonnie Doon offering hair and skin care services. Salon Social offers several treatment packages to ensure you look bright and radiant throughout the winter.
14. Fox & Flower
Fox & Flower specializes in handcrafted, hand-poured concrete candles, planters, and home goods. We recently worked on a brand refresh of their website and are in awe of their creative process. Each product is meticulously crafted, poured, finished, and sanded by hand and you can feel the love that goes into each piece. We’ve had our eyes on the Abbie candles but all Fox & Flower’s products make great gifts that will make any home feel warm and cozy for the winter.
15. Run Wild Playkits
As a mom herself, Lianne couldn’t leave the kiddos out of the LCC gift guide! Run Wild Play Kits creates sensory kits and learning tools for kids. They’re designed to help bring sensory play into people’s homes and aid in child development through play. Earlier this year, we had so much fun illustrating and designing their popular emotions cards and their Look What I Can Do Journal. Run Wild Playkits also just released their new holiday collection that would make great stocking stuffers for kids.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with every one of these clients over the last year and we hope that our little gift guide helps you shop small and local this season!
